You have to do something in your router, which I don't remember right now
I think I have made a post about how to make a server in SE, but I don't know if it works for Retail too

Here:

Mage_wizard wrote:1)Press start, run, write cmd and press enter. There write ipconfig/all. Many IPs will come up. Write down the 'IP Address' somewhere (should start like this: 192.168.)
2)You need to open public port 27768 (Protocol type UDP).
3)You need to open LAN port 54529 (Protocol type UDP)
4)In my router it asks for the LAN IP address. Write the address you wrote down earlier.
5)Go in DMZ(Demilitarized Zone). In my router, this was at the 'Firewall'. In other routers, it should be at 'Advanced Settings'. Click enabled and at 'Client PC IP Address', write the IP you wrote down earlier.
6)Now go to 'gore folder\settings\autoserver.cfg'. Make sure that verbose 0 is the last command and also, put this command anywhere before verbose 0: host *
7)Download this http://www.mediafire.com/?24jajx4ampqrv56 . Put it in your gore folder and run it.

The ports you need to open for Retail are different though. I don't know which ones need to be opened

I dont think this works with retail because it does not have 'Autoserver.cfg' in the files... but i will try with SE anywayz.

It asked for a protocol in my old router, I don't know if this is needed anymore
